What is Forest Therapy?
Sometimes referred to as forest bathing, a forest therapy walk is not a hike or naturalist tour. It's a slow, sensory-rich experience that invites you to step gently out of the pace of everyday life and into the quiet presence of the natural world. Each walk is an opportunity to just be, and to reconnect - with yourself, with others, and with the more-than-human world around you.
Depending on the number of participants, these walks typically range from 2 to 4 hours and cover a very short distance - rarely more than a mile. They are designed for all bodies and abilities, and no prior experience is necessary. The pace is slow, the terrain is gentle, and the emphasis is not about reaching a destination, but on present moment sensory engagement.
You'll be guided through a series of carefully crafted invitations - open-ended prompts that encourage noticing, feeling, sensing, and connecting. These may include invitations to explore movement, stillness, sound, touch, and the heart, always allowing space for your own unique way of engaging with the land and beings around you. While the type and number of invitations will vary with each walk depending on several factors, each walk begins with a welcome and brief introduction to forest therapy/forest bathing, and closes with a tea circle to help us integrate the experience.
Many people leave a forest therapy walk feeling more relaxed, grounded, openhearted, and connected - not only to nature, but to themselves, and often to each other.
Whether you come seeking stillness, peace, renewal, or simply time among the trees, you are welcome here.
Into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul.
